Interactive Installations during Undergraduate Program

Portal Room (2017)
Portals connects two worlds through technology and physical fabrication. Using a webcam, projector, computer, and network to create an installation where people can communicate through a portal. To activate the portal, the user must use motion to "wipe" away the colorful filter that seperates the visibility of these two feeds. Both users must be in motion to see the other side. This project explores the ways in which we can connect digitally with each other, considering privacy and digital filters.
MEDIUM: wood, fabric, projector, webcam, MaxMSP.
Frequen-C (2017)
Frequen-C is an interactive installation that creates sound from light. Using PureData, a sound signal is created and controlled by light sensors placed along an LED strip.
MEDIUM: Wood, LED light, Arduino, BELA Microcontroller, Photoresistors, Arduino, and Pure Data.
Chromo (2018)
Chromo is an immersive and interactive installation that creates a relationship between technology and the user their pulse and colored light. It aims to improve mood and promote empathy through visualization of one’s internal state. By using primary colors, each heart rate state can be translated into a color that aims to neutralize mood based on research of color therapy. Ultimately, Chromo leaves the interpretation of the experience to the other to better understand themselves through digital processes.
MEDIUM: Arduino, MaxMSP, projectors, LED light, pulse sensor, wood.
Cloud13
Cloud13 is a motion reactive cloud light. Rainbow light changes to thunderstorm when the user walks underneath. MEDIUM: wire, cotton, LED light, motion sensor, arduino. Mixed Reality Pong (2018)
Mixed Reality Pong is an immersive rendition of the classic game pong. Each players' body position is tracked by an overhead camera while the game is projected onto the floor. Lights in the room change color based on the position of the ball and other effects are thrown in to add to the chaos.
MEDIUM: IR cameras, projectors, MaxMSP.
